SAEKI - Manufacturing at software speed

Europe's defense industrial base cannot respond at the speed modern conflict requires. Legacy suppliers operate on month-long timelines. Tribal knowledge is retiring. Supply chains are fragile. SAEKI is building the operating system for autonomous factories: the infrastructure that lets Europe manufacture mission-critical components at software speed.

At Factory ONE in Munich, metal laser powder bed fusion produces flight and defense hardware where one bad layer can scrap a part worth weeks of work. As our LPBF Technician, you own the metal printers end to end: from build preparation through powder, machine and post-processing to a part that is ready for inspection.

You make sure every metal build runs, and every part can be traced back to its powder lot.

The Role

  • Run the LPBF machines. Set up, monitor and shut down LPBF builds, including plate, recoater and inert gas.

  • Prepare builds. Check orientation, supports and plate layout, and tell engineering what will print reliably.

  • Own the powder. Sieving, storage and lot traceability, with strict safety discipline on reactive powders.

  • Post-process. Depowdering, stress relief, plate and support removal, and handover to machining and metrology.

  • Maintain. Filter changes, cleaning, preventive maintenance and first-level troubleshooting.

  • Recover from failures. Secure the data, find the cause, then restart.

  • Document. Build records and non-conformities per EN9100, traceable to every serial number.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years hands-on LPBF experience in an industrial environment, ideally aerospace, defense, medical or energy.
  • Machine fluency. You have run and maintained LPBF systems on your own (e.g. EOS, SLM/Nikon, Trumpf, Renishaw, Colibrium Additive). You know what a recoater crash, short feed or a rising oxygen level looks like and what to do about it.
  • Powder safety. You know how to handle reactive metal powders safely: inerting, grounding, ATEX awareness, wet separators, PPE.
  • Process understanding. You understand how orientation, supports and parameters affect distortion, porosity and surface quality.
  • Quality mindset. You document cleanly and treat traceability as part of the job. Experience in an EN9100 or ISO 13485 environment is a plus.
  • Hands-on. You depowder, clean, change filters and saw plates yourself.
  • Language: Fluent German for the shop floor, working English for the team in Zurich.
  • On-site: Based in Munich, working on site at Factory ONE.

What we're not looking for

  • Operators who press start and walk away. Each build gets your attention until the part is off the plate.
  • Anyone who restarts a crashed job without understanding the cause.
  • People who take shortcuts with powder safety or traceability.
  • Anyone who needs every procedure written out before acting. You help write them.

What we offer

  • Mission: Rebuild the industrial sovereignty of the West. Your builds become mission-critical hardware.
  • Growth path: You work directly with our LPBF lead and grow with the metal AM floor, with the option to lead your own sub-team as it scales.
  • Ownership: You run the metal AM floor from day one and shape how it scales.
  • The Environment: A greenfield factory with metal AM, SLS, 5-axis CNC and in-house metrology, in a data-driven production environment.
  • The Team: Close collaboration with engineering, quality, software and robotics. "Special Forces" model: everyone ships, no politics, no bureaucracy.
  • Compensation: Competitive salary incl. share options.
  • Location: Factory ONE, Munich.

Apply

  • Resume: Show us the LPBF systems, materials and parts you have worked with.
  • Cover letter: Why this mission? Why now? And describe a build that failed: what caused it, and what you changed afterwards.
